Digitek (Digoxin Tablets) Recall & Lawsuit Information
The prescription drug Digitek has been recalled after tablets were released that contained twice the approved level of the active ingredient-- which is causing serious side effects in individuals who have taken the drug.
Digitek is manufactured by Actavis Totowa LLC in NJ and distributed by Mylan Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in PA. The drug is used to treat congestive heart failure and atrial fibrillation/atrial flutter (or fast heartbeat). Digitek is also sold under the names Cardoxin, Lanoxicaps and Lanoxin.
Side Effects
The side effects of taking an increased dose of Digitek include the following:
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Dizziness
- Low blood pressure
- Cardiac instability
- Slow heart rate (Bradycardia)
- Death
