early 2008, the Bush Administration released the 131 worst nursing
homes in the country. Surprisingly, 8 out of 131 were in the New Jersey
and Pennsylvania area.
The worst nursing homes in the Philadelphia metro area are as follows:

- Hometown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center- Tamaqua, PA
- Brighten At Broomall- Broomall, PA
- Manor at Susquehanna Village- Millersburg, PA
- Ashton Hall Nursing and Rehab- Philadelphia, PA
- Carney's Point Care Center- Carney's Point, NJ
- Palace Rehabilitation and Care Center- Maple Shade, NJ
- Victoria Health Care Center- Matawan, NJ
