Medical Malpractice Shuts Down Kidney Transplant Program at California Hospital

The University of Southern California recently shut down it's kidney transplant unit after implanting a kidney in the wrong patient. An investigation is underway to determine what holes in the program allowed for such horrid medical malpractice. Fortunately, no patient was injured, due to the fortunate fact that the kidney was a universal 'O' blood type. Had that not been the case, someone could have died. After the error was discovered, the hospital quickly began working to locate an eligible recipient for the additional kidney.
